101: Food A is expensive. Food B is cheap. Your $$$ = next to zero. Which one'll you pick?
It just so happens that Food A is the healthy one, Food B is plenty fattening and zero healthy.

Also, if you eat just one or two meals a day, your body will think there's a famine and go into rabid savings mode. Those meals will also be big, which doesn't really help too much.

But to do the right thing here (eat frequent but small meals) takes education. Which I don't see most of the US having.
