The interrogation and detention program run by Bush and Cheney used water boarding on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to get the info about the courier who would years later be located by the CIA, and lead them to bin Laden's crib.
It's doesn't really matter who you give credit to. It was the hard work that operatives on the ground that did all the real work. OBL died like a dog and that is all that matters.
