4chan worse than Congress?

And I thought Congress sitting on their asses was a terrible waste of time.  Most 4chan topics all like, start with the topic, then BANTER!!!!!!  Sometimes it's just no topic and only the banter part.

I'm not expecting anything to get DONE here, but does any one here have a real purpose of all this banter, even outside 4chan?  Not like answering will do you any good. >:
