Everybody's talking about a "recession" and that "raising the debt ceiling" will save America. That's BULLSHIT.
A recession is basically harsh times. This, on the other hand, is America having spendt so INCREDIBLY PARIS HILTON much money on attacking random countries, that they have used up BOTH all the money they had AND all the money they could EVER borrow.
There ain't no recovering from this one. What makes a "developing nation" is basically so huge loans to the industrial nations that they're just paying interest. When the basically imaginary "debt ceiling" is raised, Americas spending will NOT stop there, because they STILL have their occupations to fund, and they STILL have a new CONSTITUTIONAL wellfare system to support that only Bush could have thought was economically sound.

America was never about America, it was about facilitating global capitalism and we're currently in boom times if you have the connections and pro-active attitude, so technically America has succeeded even if it isn't a success, also it's decline is relative, there is no decline in PPP. Real compensation (wages + benefits) has increased steadily for decades , the rich get richer, the poor get richer at a lower rate and whine instead of going to community college. It might not seem like it to some obese oprah watching soccer mom with 3 overweight dull-eyed brown kids who's job at the call center was outsourced to India, but really, who cares.

I could not agree with all of you more. I have been poor my whole life basically, always going further down while the rest of my neighbors or fellow Americans seemed to be getting richer. iPads, HDTV, 4g, what have you. I have none of that stuff still, but I'm going to the University of Texas at Austin with a 3.89 because I worked hard.

For the record, never had welfare, never had health insurance. You dont need to be coddled, Americans.
