"It gives results."

You people probably think a lot of politics are idiotic, but I think nothing can top the expression "It gives results.".
Beatrice Ask - Swedens minister of justice (and political Forrest Gump) - just told the press that she was happy that her new way of running things "was giving results".
As an anarchist, I don't care if she runs things into the ground, but I've heard this "argument" from other sources as well.

When was the first time that you were happy over something "giving results"? It was probably after you had sat on your potty, wasn't it? Anything gives results. It's not an argument. It's concentrated, packaged idiocy. It's like saying "If I take this gun and spray bullets everywhere, and I manage to hit anything (like the walls) I will be happy, because it gave results.".

It's also funny that this women is the minister of justice, because she's representing a rightwing party, so this woman is supposed to be something that the party is to be proud over.

A dutch politician (female) has said, in a political debate concerning something about statistics, that you cannot compare "a" to "b", ie. denying of existance of ANY correlational evidence.
She was basicly denying all methods of science concerning social sciences.

Anyway, it's just an aspect of this media/spin mediocracy.
Politicians are, instead of solar-powered or running on a kind of petrol, rather powered by the videocamera's. Always pretending to be very busy with stuff, yet have the time to perfom various kinds of mandates next to their original job as politician.(oh, the joy of corporatism)

To get to the point: the bitch who "gives results" & the dutch bitch that doesn't believe in the scientific method are just there for the PR of the party, ie. popular character/good looks etc.
They have nothing to contribute and people like dat need to leave politics to the "zoion politikon".

Another pearl from Beatrice Ask was when she was asked if she basically didn't find the law she just created to be unfair as it persecuted minorities and infringed on democratic rights in general, and she responded "It's a matter of principle.". What sort of "principles" trumphs democratic rights?

As an anarchist
This must be why you hate results so much.

What Beatrice Ask was referring to, was basically her turning the swedish legal system into swiss cheese, ruling that swedish police should not investigate most crimes more than a few days. In other words: If you can fool a cop for a week, you get away with anything but murder.
...so no, I don't hate the actual results. I love them.

Anarchists don't blindly hate all results, the way some people blindly embrace all results.
Rather we examine what those results actually are.

Don't change these.
