Ultracapitalism

So we won the cold war and the world is hurtling towards a global capitalist hegemony.

What should we do with all the matter and energy in the universe?

I'll tell you what we should do: read Accelerando by Charles Stross (great guy by the way, try and see if you can meet up if you ever go to Edinburgh). Ultra-capitalism will collapse upon itself due to finite resources. That isn't to say that it isn't a good solution on the way to post a post-scarcity civilisation but it does rely on a perfectly rational consumer base which I think is unrealistic.
