Besides all the hatred, genocide, etc, what was so bad about Nazi policies?

I think he meant that it's been portrayed as an "invention of the Nazis", while in reality (we don't really get to know that) Nazi Germany was in fact the last ones on the bandwagon.
All the Nazis did, was give it a bad name.
