People will remember the riots for the same reason they remember the numerous Bloody Sundays, the Russian Revolution or the American Civil war. Who remembers whistleblowers? The only reason we remember the Watergate whistleblower and the Papers that resulted is because a) it's a piece of history America actually likes talking about and b) There's a fucking movie about it. If America has their way, they'll erase cablegate or make it look like a futile attempt to stop them (which is was)
