Um, lemmesee...
- most of the plants we farm and eat, come from Eurasia
- most of the animals we keep as livestock, come from Eurasia
- most of the early technologies (i.e. pre-Columbus) come from Eurasia

- the deadliest parasites are found in tropical climates, like Africa
- so are the most violent weather types (storms, droughts, etc)
- just about every single animal found natively in Africa, has serious attitude issues where humans are concerned (i.e. useless as livestock; ever tried riding a zebra? or an ostrich?)

Add a mixture of daft religions (esp. Christian missionaries and Moslem conquests), cold war proxy-war-style coups-d'etat, phuxx0rd schooling regimes, sabotaged civil rights movements, and a culture that clowns on anyone with higher education (esp if it's whitey's education), and let me see how far you get.
