I'd be more worried about the corporate tyranny rather than non-existent communist tyranny. Social safety net programs are in place simply because it benefits the corporate oligarchs. Less homeless/completely broke poor people = more profits for them. They use the Federal Reserve and other lending institutions as ends to these means.
