Marriage tax breaks

Should they be removed?

I would like to think they were proposed to support larger groups of people on the same income levels.  Now it is more common for two people to have combined income sources even in a married situation.  Perhaps, instead of repealing marriage tax breaks, we should combine them with income considerations - a married* household of singular primary income, or multiple incomes accumulating from only part-time jobs - and then factor in the number of legally underage dependents somehow.

* Thus that this argument stays on track, let's not concern ourselves with the nature of the marriage.

He should be spending more of his own money on the child, stop buying beer, sell his car and television etc..

Don't change these.
