At this point, I'd say so. It'll take either the bankruptcy of the country, or nullification of Federal laws, maybe it will go even as far as state secessionist movements like the Texas Nationalist Movement, or the Second Vermont Republic headed by Thomas Naylor. I could see a break up of the US sort of like what happened with the former Soviet Union.

NEWS FLASH: Every government on Earth is corrupt. America is no exception, but it isn't even close to being the worst. Though it may be the stupidest.
So what's the answer? Revolution? Start over? No. That's been done too many times to count and it never works. If the new regime isn't as bad as the old one, it will be soon.
There is no answer. We're just fucked. Fucked by our own nature. Our only hope is to do the best we can until technology advances enough to make our petty notions of borders and the scarcity-based economy obsolete. If that ever happens.

We just need smarter populations then, and perhaps more aggressive behavior amongst the masses...
Just kidding people are sheep, they want to be sheep. Being responsible for themselves is just too much stress for the average joe so they need some big brother/god/authority to tell them exactly how to be, give them some purpose to fulfill and ultimately defend them from other people.
What really needs to happen is for people to accept that they want an Emperor and go about finding a method that selects one of the strongest of a group to be that emperor. If you stop to think a real emperor is a much harder thing to corrupt. Oh sure he'll be petty, probably rape and murder individuals on a daily basis, but his authority will be directly tied to the wealth and ability of the nation he commands.

Judging by the Global Integrity Index, your complaints are completely unfounded and the United States is very effective against corruption. If you want true corruption, look to Africa. The United States is not remotely near the levels seen in shitholes like Zimbabwe and Uganda.

Hah, oops, forgot to post the link to the index. Enjoy!

To say that there's no corruption at high levels of the US government is completely foolish, and to trust a list that can be manipulated is just easily as foolish. True, the US government is not at the levels seen in Zimbabwe and Uganda, however to say that it could not ever be is just downright wrong.
