Catholic Church should be charged under Rico

Name: Anonymous 2010-06-10 10:35

1. the Catholic Church has been complicit in thousands of cases of child abuse;
2. they have covered it up;
3. if a US prosecutor would bring a RICO case against them they could shut down the whole thing (which is what they deserve) and go after all of their assets worldwide under anti-money laundering legislation;
4. if no prosecutor would bring a case, victims could still bring a civil RICO case and claim (I think) triple damages.

Are there any lawyers or prosecutors or victims here that have the balls to take them on?

RICO cases have already been brought against Catholic Church dioceses for matters regarding sex abuse cover-up and fund movement.  It can not be charged against the Catholic Church itself because that is an international administration.

Moreover, the Catholic Church already has a variety of money-laundering charges levied against it and such charges are nothing new for them.  I think the last prominent one was by Russia this very year.

I do agree that any alleged money-laundering and, more importantly, the existence and obscuring of child molestation should be brought to an end among the Church.  If you can choke away those two branches ...

I think they should be prosecuted. It's just not right, but I doubt that anybody has the balls to actually try to fucking prosecute those disturbers.
