The Green Party

Name: Anonymous 2010-04-19 11:50

The Green Party is the closest you'll get to a mainstream party which supports all of the varied libertarian policies that 4chan seems to cling to. Drug legalisation, denial of the DEB, relaxation of censorship, proportional representation, cutting down of the DNA database, scaling back on CCTV, less harsh punishments for piracy, etc. You should be supporting them.

I agree with their social policies, but they're still a bunch of eco wackos.

less harsh punishments for piracy
Somalian piracy?

Doesn't matter. If a so-called "third" party ever got enough traction to make a difference, its leaders would sell out just like every other politician. In the end, you're still just voting for corporate puppets. We still lose.

I want Drug legalisation, denial of the DEB, relaxation of censorship, proportional representation, less harsh punishments for piracy, but I always want rapists and shoplifters to be identified, technology and nukes so we can keep order in the world.

They plan to close nuclear powerplants.

What's their argument for that?

Radiation is scary and hard to understand.

No, it's the mining techniques used to get it. Lots of construction spewing CO2 and raping of the earth's resources. Green party is actually split on this issue I believe.

Nuclear fission is just a stepping stone to fusion.

If we don't get a serious fusion-based global power grid online in the next century or two, we're going to be FUCKED. Renewable energy sources are nice, but they aren't going to be able to sustains us by themselves (not any time soon, anyway).

If we don't fund nuclear research NOW and play with nuclear power on larger scales, we could be in big trouble if something unexpected interrupts our coal or oil supplies.

Not to worry.  We'll get access to Fusion Power Plants by 2050.

I still prefer 3000 despite 2000s classic charm, 3000 is more expansive and captures more interest.

Listen here, jerkface. 2000 was ass compared to 3000. Also way to bump an old thread.

Don't change these.
