This speech is still very relevant, today. Maybe more-so.

I liked Reagan's ideas that he campaigned for during the 1980 election, but he failed to acheive his goals that he set out to make. I know he did try to make a legitimate attempt to decrease the size and scope of government. I consider his presidency a failure, but he fares batter than the recent presidents we've had as of late.
By "presidents we've had as of late", do you mean "those that weren't shot at"?
That seems to be the trend.

Interesting. Reagan did survive an assassination attempt. And Andrew Jackson certainly would have suffered a similar fate—if not death—had the two guns that Richard Lawrence held, fired.
I'm noticing a correlation between those who promise real reform and their trajectory towards bullets.

He had to defeat communism aswell don't forget.

Communism defeated itself. In fact Reagan was bailing out the Soviet Union during his tenure as President and it still managed to collapse. There's really no true communist country anymore because the system has proven itself not to work.
China is immensely capitalist, but the "little people" who do all the work are never in the loop. The money goes straight into the pockets of the government and corporations who get the government contracts. This is why they end up using lead paint and shit, they can't make money otherwise.
