Because going the communist route is not the way to go? And free markets can take care of a lot of the problems that government sees fit to step in to address.

Communism, oh troll, is not in and of itself a political system. This is a common misconception that was planted in the heads of many people, particularly Americans, during the cold war. Propaganda's a bitch. We were taught that it was Democracy vs. Communism, when it's more accurately understood as: Democracy is to Dictatorship as Communism is to Capitalism. Still, communism applied to large groups has always failed miserably.

Yes, technically calling them communist alone isn't very clear but communism is almost always accompanied by the communist culture and ideology, during the cold war you had a bloc of communist one party states insisting they be called communist and trying to help communist parties in third world countries take over and at the same time many allies of the US were one party states.
