Apparently Australia doesn't have a Bill Of Rights because:

>It relies on legislated rights and common law rights, and the fact that specifying rights does not always add to them or ensure their existence.

>Both the Commonwealth and State Constitutions are mainly concerned with the powers of law and government.  Instead, Australians, like the British, have the right to do something unless the government says otherwise.

Does that sounds like bullshit or what?

>A Bill Of Rights has little effect on democracy

I don't know much about politics but hasn't the US's Bill Of Rights had a fairly large amount of effect on it?

>Instead, Australians, like the British, have the right to do something unless the government says otherwise.

Don't you still have that right if you have a Bill Of Rights?
