How to make the bailout acceptable.

Name: Anonymous 2008-10-01 16:45

Disclaimer: I'm assuming here that the bailout of 700 Billion is what is needed to save the US Economy and it's not going into the hands of corrupt CEOs, Bush's buddies, etc.  Of course this may not be the case, but then again, the gov't may be hiding some dire and nasty news about the state of the economy to prevent a panic.

Short Version: Spend the 700 Billion bailout.  THEN, pay us taxpayers back this 700 Billion over the years.

Long Version: The public complains that they're being robbed of their hard-earned tax dollars in regards to the bailout.  Well, what if the gov't is being honest this time and the situation with the economy is so bad, this is the last hope for the survival of the US Economy (I hope this isn't the case but who knows.)

So government, if you say that spending this 700 Billion of our tax money will guarantee the end of this crisis and years of prosperity ahead, then how about this: please PAY US BACK the 700 billion once prosperity comes.  Once our businesses are back up running and churning in profits, you'll surely be racking in the $$$'s in tax money again so this "loan" will easily be repayable.  In fact, I'm demanding a total of $800 Billion to be paid back

Remember the 160 Billion spent on the rebate checks a few months ago?  That amounted to about $600 per person.  $800 Billion is $3000 per person.  A reasonable payment schedule for repaying the loan is as follows:

a $300 tax rebate per person every year for the next 10 years.

I don't even need to read that because the bailout ISN'T what is needed to "save" the US economy

The bailout is like niggers: It won't work.

If we have the phrase "that dog won't hunt", then why don't we have a phrase like "that nog won't work"?

Bailouts do work, if they are bullwhipped into a cotton field.

Don't change these.
