Let's say I'm on a horse with a bullwhip tending my cotton fields and I decide to crack that bullwhip because I enjoy cracking bullwhips. Now let's just say there happens to be a shirtless black guy in the general direction that I've cracked my bullwhip. Let's now say that this black guy just so happens to decide to pick my cotton and pack it into bails because he enjoys it. What's wrong with that?

Consider Einsteins observation that someone falling and someone floating in space does not notice the difference. It's the exact same thing. For a neutral observer there is no difference between this instance and slavery, thus slavery should be legal.

Well I can't argue with that logic so I guess it's ok.

Not really... slavery is when another person is kept in bondage or against their will. However, if someone *wanted* to work for you, under severe conditions, then that's okay. I wouldn't expect it to be legalized, though.

The flaw here is that you didn't mention that you just happen to be on those cotton fields; they are not yours.  So when I just happen to show up there with a gun and -- noting well that I enjoy firing it -- you just happen to be in the path of one (or more) of the bullets, then what's wrong with that?  Nothing.  Einstein agrees.

You are clearly someone of high intelligence, at least someone here is capable of understanding the complex arguments presented.

What about all those people in gyms? They also look as though they are powering machinery for a slavemaster yet they are just getting some exercise. There is also the fact that slavemasters cared for their slaves, they wanted them to remain alive to work the next day.

Shooting me is wrong because I did not authorize it, but I do consent for people to work on my cotton plantation.

Let's say I have a gun and I decide to pull the trigger because I enjoy pulling triggers. Now let's say there happens to be a newborn baby at the end of the barrel. Now let's just say that this newborn baby decides to stand in the way of my bullet because he enjoys it. What's wrong with that?

The workers did not authorize your cracking them with a whip.

If the whip strike is all that matters as some sort of independent event, then my bullet strike is equally validated.

So, they cared so much for their slaves they whipped and or beat them to death? That sounds ridiculous...ly reasonable! Except not.

Let's say I'm in a park excercising my hips and I decide to trust my erect penis into the air because I enjoy trusting my penis. Now let's just say there happens to be a loli in the general direction that I've trust my erect penis. Let's now say that this loli just so happens to decide to get naked and stand in front of me because she enjoys it. What's wrong with that?

He's actually right in that few slaves were actually beaten to point were they could not work, much less to the point of dying because few people could afford that loss in production.  Most lived within small households and were treated something between a family's own children and a mule.  There were certainly many beatings, but farmers of that age probably beat everything within several miles of themselves, except of course themselves, because the idea of spilling seed on barren ground would of been anathema to a farmer.
