The hypocrisy of all sides in this conflict (Georgia, Russia and Nato) is so big it might just collapse into a black hole* which will suck up the entire solar system.
FAIL. Even if for some bizarre reason the Earth turned into a Black hole, it would not "suck up the entire solar system".
Go back to college and learn something this time.

The U.S. is calling Russia retaliating against Georgia a 'disproportionate response'. That fucking cracks me up. The U.S., king of all 'disproportionate responses'... ohhh...

2 wrongs don't make a right. I could rape your mom and torch your house, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong when I criticise you for littering.

I wonder who the Russians learned modern regime change from.

Maybe not, but you would still be a massive douche.

This shit's brought out some of the finest political theater in a while. The Bush admin has pretty much taken the military option "off the table" (after years of lecturing to everyone that this should never be done under any circumstance), the Democrats and liberals in general decided to discard their peacenik facade to call Bush & the neocons a bunch of pussies for their weak response, and John McCain made some limp-wristed attempts to sound tough...including trying to tie Obama to Moscow (lol). This is far more entertaining than the Olympics could ever be.

nice to see western media ignoring:
-georgia invaded south ossetia first, attacking russian peacekeepers and civilians, killing well over a thousand in the first night
-the ossetians have been wanting independence for years - look at the 92 referendum and the 2006 one (a 95% turnout, with 99% in favour of independence)
-russia warned us that this would happen when we all supported kosovo's independence
-you try starting a fight on a bus, and when it becomes clear that you are going to lose you ask for a ceasefire, and see what happens, then magnify to the power of russia
-the ossetians DON'T WANT TO BE RULED BY GEORGIA, BUT HAVE CONTINUALLY BEEN DENIED A VOICE FOR TWENTY FIVE YEARS.
-western countries with soldiers in iraq (and a history of invading countries because of things far less justifiable than their citizens being killed by a foreign government) talking about interfering with other contries can't expect to be taken seriously when they condemn what russia are doing
but, of course, we'll keep seeing headlines like "RUSSIA INVADES GEORGIA, THOUSANDS KILLED" and can't expect to see "BY THE GEORGIANS" added to it. i just hope as few people as possible are killed and that south ossetia and abkhazia get independence or some suitable agreement.

what gets me the most is that russia is being accused of having pre-planned the whole thing - what the fuck?
RUSSIA planned that georgia would invade ossetia?
since that is obvious nonsense, it can only be stripped down to that russia was prepared in the event of it happening, and if our countries have become so damn incompetent that we are criticising others for being prepared for events that they've predicted for years, then i really hope putin stands in the next election over here.
the whole situation is ridiculous, imagine the americans being called heavy handed for bombing mexico city, were mexico to invade puerto rico. i know it is just a matter of post cold war hostilities and 'looking after our own', but really - the arguments we are being given against russia are just too hollow and hypocritical to be taken seriously.

also
“Russia has invaded a sovereign neighbouring state and threatens a democratic government elected by its people. Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century,” Mr Bush said.
Spoiler: The validity of your opinion is not correlated with how "non-conformist" it is.

Russia, in connivance with Ossetian rebels, had been provoking the Georgians in an escalating series of attacks months before Georgia's offensive. This has been planned since at least when Kosovo's independence was declared and anybody who doesn't realize that is a fucking moron or equivalent to the people that liked those Hitler and Stalin fellows because they really showed those warmongers in the US and UK what for.

Funny you should mention Stalin, since he's the one that put South Ossetia and Abkhazia under control of his native Georgia.

He also deported the Chechen population to Siberia. I guess Georgia better invade Chechnya in solidarity with their plight.

By moonlight, we ride - ten thousand side by side
With swords drawn, held high - our whips and armour shine
Hail to thee, our infantry - still brave beyond the grave
All sworn the eternal vow, the time to strike -- is NOW!
Gone are the days, when freedom shone - now blood and steel meet bone
In the light of the battle’s way, the sands of time will shake
How proud our soldiers stand, with mace and chain in hand
Sound of charge into glory ride, over the top of their vanquished pride
To the battle, we ride - we crossed a starlit sky
No space - no time, we’ll catch the wind
Strange losses, men died - we crossed a starlit sky
And still no space and time - we’ll catch the wind
