Who the fuck cares anyway. Ever since races were formed they have displaced and killed each other over land. All modern Europeans are ethnically a mix of ancient tribes who vied for territorial supremacy. Even the Japanese displaced the indigenous Ainu people who lived on the island before them. Nobody has any kind of ancient entitlements to a piece of land.

I'll add that the Mayans were the only indigenous tribe that had what would qualify as a "civilization", but theirs was an ancient civilisation that was in heavy decline when Colombus arrived. Also they were limited to Central America which makes it irrelavent in the context of American and Canadian politics.

It is doubtful that the precolumbian population of North America ever exceeded one million, given that with agriculture restricted to a tiny handful of neolithic groups very widely separated geographically, hunter-gatherer methods could not have supported a larger population anyway.

These were people who believed that disease was carried by fog and bad smells, if they knew even an inkling about bacteria and viruses they wouldn't be drinking from water sources near latrines.

A Utah dung researcher (you heard me) has been analyzing fossilized poop for 20 years and extracted DNA which showed genomes supporting a theory that Native Americans share genomes with nomads in America that predate Bering Strait walkers by thousands of years. I don't believe they shared any other geneology with Europeans or Asians of the suggested period.
