stock market crash

Let pretend that the stock market is going to crash in 3 months. I imagine all stocks would be worth less. what type of investments would withstand or flourish. I read that investing in the essentials would withstand. are there things other then stocks that would flourish during another great depression?

you don't understand how the stock market works do you?
either the company is public and you can buy it's stock, or the company is private and not traded.  It's not a matter of "knowing the right people."  the stock is either available or it's not.
