What shapes one's politcal view?

Is it upbringing?
Social/Economic standing?  (and does it change as you get richer/poorer?)
Personal values?
Education? (how, when, where, and by whom)
Propaganda and Memetics?


I'm inclined to believe that most people's political views are based on what they believe will benefit them the most personally.

If you're poor, chances are you get a horrid education, and chances are your parents too were poor and horribly educated, so that makes you a likely candidate to believe in retarded stuff.
