Conservatism is sooooo dead

What is conservatism?  Belief in free markets, free people, and in the greatness of the American people and the American nation.   These principles are, in the eyes of people who aren't morons, fatuous slogans and overripe bullshit.

So conservatism, in short, is about wanking. Governments fuck up a lot, especially if you don't like governments. And that's it? Well, congratulations. You can see why any government elected on a platform of self-contempt would have trouble perpetuating itself. Of course, in reality, "conservative" politicians are not immune to the blandishments of power, as history rather spectacularly teaches us.

The real problem with "movement conservatism" is that it is reactive and deluded. Global warming is real. The Iraq war was a grotesque mistake. The mainstream media are not Democratic partisans. Gay marriage is not going to destroy America. And so on.

The real problem with "movement conservatism" is that the only people left who believe in it are completely crazy idiots.

We'll see who's crying in November.

America has been given a choice between a lukewarm, wishy-washy Rockerfeller Republican and a Democratic candidate who will be one of two persons:

One is not only a woman, but a woman who has dedicated her entire lifetime to the most insane lunatic-fringe far-left politics and large sections of the electorate consider her the Antichrist.

The other is a Halfrican-American puffed-up empty suit, all mugged up with the Chicago Democratic Machine, whose sole experience in national politics is one single four-year term representing an especially odious and necrotic slum district in Chicago.  He had successfully avoided saying anything about anything and admitting to having any opinion or position about anything at all until he slandered about 85% of the electorate and let working-class whites know just how he feels about those stupid honky hicks in Flyover Country.

We're going to see, all right.  We're going to see.
