Stuff White People Like

This site is obviously written by affluent white/Jewish liberals, and meant to be a satire of this subset of the white population, but they just use "white people" instead of clarifying that. It's interesting it associates all kinds of cultural things with whiteness. It's perpetuating reverse-racial stereotypes. It may as well call itself "stuff black people don't like". I bet the same liberal whites who write this blog would call you "racist" if you said "stuff black people like" is chicken, basketball and rap music.

I'd call this "liberal racism", subtly promoting the idea of white cultural superiority (something liberals are aware of), but because they act like they are making fun of themselves it's acceptable and not politically incorrect.

I think it's more the issue that if something like this were to appear that said things like 'black people love their fried chicken, and they get through so much of the stuff they take pride in saying theirs is the best through years of practise' or 'the black man loves the company of his fellow black man, in fact you'll rarely find him in groups of less than ten when outside' then there would be a 'racist' shitstorm even though it is merely outlining how great friend chicken can taste when made by someone who's familiy has a history of making it for generations, or how black people generally have better social groups than whites and are more sociable. Well that's not negative, so where's the problem?

It's all about the stereotyping and it's association with mocking. People don't like to be stereotyped and when it's linked to racial groups you get into dangerous waters. It's just a form of traditional racism that has been flipped upside down then put in a mirror, and still comes out seeming discriminatory.
