Why Shouldn't the US Support Israel?

It seems to me that the current foreign policy of the US supporting Israel is the correct one. Most western countries SAY that they are all for defending the weak and helping those in need but then DO NOTHING TO BACK IT UP!

That is what the US is doing for Israel.

It is also in the best interests of the west to support democracies in the middle east that stand in sharp contrast to the dictatorship of most Islamic/Persian states.

you're absolutely right.  the US should do more for the Arab nations.

This is perhaps the most retarded thing I have ever read.

In supporting Israel, the United States has actively pursued anti-democratic policies for Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.  We do this because somewhere in the cynical past, Jews made the decision that an Arab dictator who supported peaceful relations with Israel was more important to maintain than the possibility that Arab democracies would work against Israel.

The reason we shouldn't help Israel is because we have our own fucking problems... like a national debt that, if I'm not mistaken, has just gone beyond the 10 trillion dollar mark.

So basically, we shouldn't because we CAN'T FUCKING AFFORD IT. Our politicians need to STOP SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY.
