The Navy, the State Department, and the CIA all agree that the attack on the Liberty was accidental. Knowing our government's track record for responding to people who shoot at us, do you really think they'd have just sat there and continued to support Israel if they had any reason to think it was on purpose? When a US ally tries something like that, the US has it overthrown and replaced with a more cooperative regime. That didn't happen.
So, either a) evil Jews are controlling the CIA, or b) the government has sufficient evidence to prove that the attack was a case of mistaken identity. Take also into account the fact that the Liberty was in an area where naval engagements between two well-armed nations was going on, and ask yourself; would it have taken a conspiracy?
