Are we in a recession (U.S.)?

Only one of the following is true:

1) We are not in a recession (yet)

2) We are in one and the government is lying to us by not reporting negative growth in the past 6 months.

Unnecessary state intervention in the economy is the cause of all recessions. When someone in the free market makes a mistake they lose money, when someone in the government makes a mistake they phone their PR guru and raise taxes to cover their losses.
