i heard that Alaska has enough oil to supply America for 200 years. has anyone else heard something similar?

There's enough oil shale in the US to do so, but the price of oil needs to go much higher for it to be cost effective

America's elite don't want to exploit America's oil reserves like that.  They prefer to keep it all in reserve for THEIR future.  The rest of us will just have to fuck off into poverty by buying up foreign oil with regressing dollars.

Yea because the oil in Iraq and places like that is easy to collect and ship, but Alaskan oil i heard isn't fare off. i heard from an a not to trust worthy sauce that if we ran on just Alaskan oil the price would be about 1.50 at the pump for 200 years.

thats not very smart of them, running our own prices up so we can buy foreign oil and not using our oil now will weaken us further when energy becomes wide spread and free with advancements in alternative energy.
