KUBA

I'm Cuban and i'll tell you very simply: COMMUNISM MAKES CUBA SUCK. not the embargo. the fact that its ILLEGAL to own stuff. how about that?? do you like going to the store and buying Princess Barbie on DVD? WELL IN CUBA, PEOPLE CANT. Even if they did have the money... My family had ranches, factories, and other businesses which were all taken away from them... forcibly. Oh, and btw, the communist government in Cuba massacred thousands upon thousands of innocent people and continue to kill today.

Wrong. Cuba is a great place to live.  Just because you don't have rampant consumerism doesn't mean you're any less happy. Communism works, folks. Never forget that.

Poverty is considered a necessary or desirable condition, which must be embraced in order to reach certain spiritual, moral, or intellectual states.

Thank you for telling me how to live. At least capitalism gives you the option of living in scum if you want to instead of forcing it on you.

As for poverty = heightened spiritual, moral and intellectual states, is that some sort of bad troll?

Quality of life is determined by many other things than physical goods and services that economic measures of standard of living and discretionary income do not into account. There are other more intangible aspects that make up human life, such as leisure, safety, cultural resources, socialization, mental health, environmental quality, etc. More complex means of measuring well-being must be employed to make such judgements.

Shit won't work until we have StarTrek replicators.  But hey, since communism works so well NOW (lol), tell me why there aren't millions of people committed to living in voluntary communes.

There are all kinds of monastic orders, but to live that life you need to be hardcore.  Some people can't get over their reliance on social structures.

Some?  more like MOST.

Communism can never work unless you find a way to fundamentally change human nature.  There are genetic reasons for greediness and the need to do better than everyone else.  Communism fails because of human biology, not external social factors.

I'd replicate a phaser and make you my slave to do all the replicating for me. I might even make replicas of you and make them race and fight for my entertainment. Sapience shmapience, I want to live like Q not some faggy federation moralityfag.

I'm not advocating communism, I'm advocating forced poverty.  Communism just happens to fit most of the criteria.  The point is to be happy, no matter where you are.

If you think poverty is so great why the fuck are you on the internet?  Shouldn't you be out plowing a field so you can grow some shitty turnips?

No I ram things up my ass. The pain simulates poverty and the sexual excitement that comes with it.

Cubans have the freedom to buy Cuban cigars whenever they want.  Not even Americans have that kind of freedom.
