I know this argument is blunt, and might make you dismissive but I think the facts are pretty clear.  All Republicans have to do is put on a suit and say "Taxes bad, me kill bin Laden" and they'll instantly get like 40% of the national vote.  Pissing on minorities will get them another 5%.  And praying on television might give them the election.

Republicans have no ideas.  They don't care about massivly important issues such as stability in Iraq, environmental protections, global climate change or borrowing money from China.  But as soon as you tell them a gay faggot teenager burned the flag at school, they'll all run forward to try to pass a traditional marriage amendment.

2008 will be a good year because it'll force the Republicans to take a hard look in the mirror and realize that its not 1955 anymore.

I can tell you're not trolling because I agree with you.  But Democrats have their faults too.  When I was a young boy I was heavily influenced by their ideals of world peace and everyone holding hands and getting along despite their differences, but as you get older you find that ideals and wishful thinking make you blind.  With no optimism left I can only be a cynic, and say people don't want peace, they just want to die as quick as possible to reach the big prize in the sky promised by their religion.

OP here.  yeah the democrats have their faults.  they like to talk and talk.  they need a leader to crack the fucking whip and get everyone to work together.  they need a strong, cinsistant clear message that they all agree on.  they already have ideas, they jest need someone to speak for them.  Obama's has my vote.

You're right, it's not 1955 anymore, the Republican party is nothing like what you described. No one says all tax is bad, in september 11 2001 terrorists flew planes into the wtc killing 3000 people and fucking up the center of one of the most important cities in the world and it is an issue, racism is virtually non-existant and yeah most Americans are religious and this is a democracy boo fucking hoo.

The Republicans pushed for the surge which has succeeded in bringing peace to some areas of Iraq and adding to the legitimacy of the Iraqi government. They aren't pouring wheatgrass into their assholes but it's not as though they don't care about the environment. Borrowing is a perfectly reasonable policy for a country in a state of economic growth, I believe that it should all be left to market forces and that the Federal Reserve should be privatised but the level of debt is nothing out of the ordinary as a proportion of the US's purchasing power. As for gay flag burning faggots the only people who care are the media and bible thumpers not elected representatives, it's just shit they put on to evoke emotions on a slow news day, anyone with an active neo-cortex doesn't give a shit.
