Thatcher unfucked the economy. Margaret merely put the true value of previously subsidised and nationalised industries to the test by seeing if they could run on their own. She knew that it would make her unpopular and hurt the economy as it re-adjusted, but she managed to convince people it was the right thing to do. I like that sort of PM because she saw democracy as a tool for making the changes that are necessary not a tool for telling people what they want to hear like some liberal populist.

On the contrary she didn't privatise enough. We think no one using the railways is a bad thing so they are subsidised. Also schools and hospitals are still nationalised whilst only the rich are able to afford private schools and private hospitals.
