Yuppies

First of all the main purpose of this thread is not to hate on yuppies, but rather the people who uphold yuppieism as a shining ideal. Perhaps they are parents, relatives or friends. Now people are free to live their lives as they please. But how about the assumption that people who have several cars in the garage, a big house, luxury goods and so on are living more meaningful lives because they've achieved success in that particular area?

That might be true in your fantasy world if you ignore these facts.

1: Modern art comes in the form of realistic skillful sculptures, architecture, photography, imaginations and traditional paintings. Unfortunately they never get any recognition because of a monopoly on modern art by pseudo-intellectual collegetards who make up for their absence of talent by throwing shit together (sometimes literally) before coming up with the most retarded explanation and calling it "art". They seem to think being as retarded as possible to create controversy is art, that might have worked in the late 50s but after 4 decades it's no longer shocking it's just annoying.
2: The worth of literature is measured in how many people need it, writers can earn a lot of money if they contribute to science, journalism and entertainment sufficiently. People who can't create anything of worth tend to occupy the same specturm as pseudo-intellectual college fags. Despite the population being 12 times higher than it was during the 19th century, modern poets are about 50 times less talented.
3: People who don't get rich from their music pretend they were confronted by evil corporations trying to get them to sell out, this isn't true, it is just excuse their failure. Oasis didn't "sell out" but they sold millions of records and the entire band is super-rich. Emofags believe this shit because it eccuses their poor taste in music.
