Al Gore loves to tell other people how to live their lives.  It is much easier for him to tell other people to change their lifestyles and live according to what he thinks is proper and correct than to make these changes in his own life first.

If you look at votes on gun issues in the House/Senate, you will notice that it is pretty much clearly cut - republicans support more freedom to keep and bear arms, and democrats tend to oppose it.  There are some exceptions, but you should realize these are *exceptions.*  The general rule of thumb is, republicans Support the Second Amendment and the democrats don't.
