The arabs don't give the IDF much of a choice in the matter - either the Israelis fight for themselves or the radical Muslims roll over them. It takes guts to be a moderate westernized power in the Middle East.

Now that's false. I don't know you remember but the war with Lebanon was not only on sketchy reasons but also Israel's spokespeople couldn't answer to the international community why they used cluster munitions on civilians and all they could say is "ISRAEL IS DEEPLY SORRY."
