This is very interesting being it's the back-to-school season seeing a pharmaceutical company shilling their HPV vaccine to parents of pre-teen girls to receive Gardisil in protecting against cervical cancer.
I don't know what about that pisses me off more, Merck using politicians to enforce this vaccination by making it compulsory thus filling Merck's pockets with loads of cash or the idea that back-to-schoolness is being exploited not only by retailers but also by pharmaceutical companies.
I mean it's great that we now have a vaccine that can prevent certain (not all) types of HPV infection, and it's even greater that the vaccine itself does not use live or dead viruses, but parts of the virus which cannot replicate, but at what cost is this being pushed on the society? Why is it mandatory and pushed on a public by only one pharmaceutical? Why must back-to-school eagerness be adapted to push this vaccine on the public?
I believe there is opportunity for good in this vaccine (Gardisil), but I think there's a lot of bad intent in how it is currently being disseminated and the reasons for which I have detailed for you.
I must also note that in my brief research on the subject I found that even Merck (The Monopoly Pharmaceutical in question) have sketchy and incomplete data as far as Gardisil's longevity and its effectiveness as well as data on the side-effects.
What have you to make of this pharmaceutical company using both government legislation and the stupidity of parents to shill their product?
