This post is a real breath of fresh air. I am so sick of haughty Britfags and U.N. lovers who think the USA is a bad country because we allow ordinary people the right to own guns. IMO, the USA should make moves toward a more Swiss-like national security system wherein everyone gets a firearm that they keep with them at all times. I'm a little hesitant to support mandatory military service, but maybe we could encourage widespread gun ownership through tax incentives for gun purchasing, provided the purchasers go to some sort of safety/target shooting/defense course? Just think - almost everyone would have guns on them. Criminals would get shot, crime would go down, we'd all be a lot safer, there'd be fewer criminals, less need for prisons, and we'd all have some pretty bitchin guns too. Cities are stupid with their gun control laws. More criminals getting shot = lower crime rates.
