Crimes committed with guns are increasing in the UK following their ban on gun ownership.

Worldwide, anyone who's disarmed in a Libertarian-esque society is going to be abused by the upper and lower criminal classes.  That's why crime is increasing in the UK.  That's why America has a base of crime that will never go away, and why it's always worse in her cities (which usually try to restrict acts of self defense, hence creating a disarmed class).  That is why crime is generally low in disarmed states in Europe, since they are NOT Libertarian and have significant Socialist elements.

Anyplace on Earth where you have to largely fend for yourself, you have to be armed or you're just going to be victimized by the most dangerous animal known:  Man.
