Why aren't more people assassinated?

People are assassinated all the time in other countries due to simple disagreement; look at the last couple lawyers of Saddam Hussein during his trial.  Why doesn't the US have a more active industry of hitmen and assassins targeting the most unpopular political, media, business and religious figures?

the chances are there are alot of people assassinated in the U.S
the reason we dont hear about it is because the assassins dont get caught or leave no trace.

Because our assassins don't get caught and our operatives are more covert. You only hear about the occasional politician dying in car crashes or in their sleep and there is a lot more under the surface.

Who was that guy that died while sleeping on a bench?

All assassinations have been put on temporary hold until a DeathNote can be found.  True Story.

Don't change these.
