[“In the early seventies there were at least ten albums released every week that were fantastic," he said.

“Now you’re lucky to find ten albums a year of that quality. And there are more albums released each week now than there were then.”] says sir elton john.

the internet has very little to do with the fact that the music industry in general is going down the chutes. what does make a difference is the amount of drugs that bands and musicians are taking now adays. which is sadly, close to NONE.
Bill Hicks did an incredibly funny bid on his comedy tours about this. The 60's and 70's were so musically amazing because everybody was upped on heroin, and blowing chunks out of their minds with Acid. Now, you can hardly get a musician to even spark a spliff.

During the 1990s I eventually turned my radio right the fuck OFF.  Corporatized music killed my interest in broadcast music, leading to a lack of my interest in obtaining new bands and albums.  More and more I spent my money on used CDs for bands extending back through the 1980s to the 1970s, where I experienced a personal Renaissance of musical enlightenment and taste.

I note Sir Shitjohn hasn't produced anything in the last 10 years worth taking off the toilet roll for other purposes than WIPING MY FUCKASS.  If he and his generation of musical performers really lament the paucity of quality music, then should get off their corporate-owned asses and start mentoring another generation of performers who can embrace and extend their styles.

Or, not.  Or perhaps Sir Shitjohn can suck a moral stiffcock as he fucks around with his millions.  I'm not turnin' on my fucking radio until I hear the corporations have goddamn lost interest in raping my ears!
