I havn't watched that video, because I've seen many like it, infact i may have seen it before.

Personally, I smoke marijuana regulary and I'm up for legalizing it. But I think that is going to be the only positive response you will get from 4chan on this matter. Simply because the audience you are addressing is that of nerds that never got a chance to smoke it or denied it because they didn't feel peer pressure as they aren't social creatures. It might also be because people on 4chan see smokers as wasters/stoners/hippies which the minority do show us as, so, ergo, if someone admits to smoking marijuana a classic /b/tard would insult him on his stupidity and make some sarcastic remark. The facts of marijuana are not even being listened too anyway, so this is a classic case where the truth doesn't seem to count for anything, it's just way of convincing people using propaganda, but pro-legalization propaganda is either too jokey/stupid or too informative, while anti-legalization mixes them giving a better impression (the government is skilled in this). However, saying this, most youths see anti-legalization propaganda as a joke. Legalization will not occur for a good while yet simply because there is nothing we will do, we can't do something similiar to the gay rights parade because we can't smoke pot, while they can do.... gay stuff. The whole marijuana things is just a loophole created by the government as a system of controlling us and keeping our attention away from the vietnam war etc.

they can put heroin into pain killers but i cant smoke my fucking pot for muscle aches legally =/

what a bunch of crap, its all about money.  if pot couldnt be grown almost anywhere, the government would legalize it, grow it, and tax it.    cha-ching?

You're generalizing as much as the people you claim generalize about the issue. It's best if you want to legalize the substance, NORML and the likes of Sagan are the best advocates you can get -- well rounded people who can argue that the history of drugs in America is one that's deeply seeded with racial fears of coke raging niggers raping white women and the ganj smoking jazz musician lulling the white females to his side with his drug inspired hypnotic music.

I've smoked and I've been around the counter-culture. The best, and I repeat, the best advocates you can get for legalization are members of the drug culture who can communicate succicently and in a way that the anti-drug people can understand. That is to say, in a presentable manner.

Your rhetoric won't mean anything when you come across as an irresponsible dreg who just wants to hit the bong all day with a rage against the machine attitude.

That's what I'm saying, that alot of kids that do smoke are coming across like that. But ofcourse there are the scientists, there are the politicians, there is the clear evidence, but does this even matter? The government created that fear, do you think it's ready to get rid of it?

Soon it will be legalized anyway when younger people are in power/older people aren't, it's just a matter of slowly convincing people (they aren't prone to shock) and making them more tolerant (see: Racism and Gay rights).

That's true about any subject.  But if you seriously need a succinct organized argument presented to you about why marijuana should be legalized, then you're a fucking retard.

This stuff seriously should be self evident.

It's an obscenity in America -- the definitive land of liberty -- that a plant family and their usage have been illegalized.  Further, this illegalization remains in place despite having been placed there largely due to some Robber Baron of old, namely William R. Hearst.  His war on marijuana was conducted solely since the plant was a serious threat to his paper businesses.  Hemp paper is a great alternative to the wood-pulp base we have used for over a century.

Americans should pull their heads out of their asses and deal with the real concept of individual liberty.  If you toke a joint in your own home, it's simply none of anyone's business.

I find it laughable at best that the hemp industry is still illegal in America, since there's no Hearst around to bother, and that there's no drug usage for hemp.  Bad ideas really persist in the American mind (or more accurately, the LACK OF IT).

(And no, I don't use marijuana ... and you couldn't pay me enough to touch the nasty stuff.  But I have no right to stop other citizens from indulging in it.)

Please explain how it is nasty, I've only had a single bad experience out of it, atleast try it....

Keeping Marihuana illegal is obviously in the governments interests, so therefore it remains illegal, and fuck, government interests are always best........................

#8, all smoked materials are nasty to me.  I also find the smell cloying and it gives me the creeps.  The residues from marijuana smoking are fairly offensive to me, as well as whatever is tucked into those hash pipes.  {shudder}  It's just a personal preference; of course, people should be free to indulge in drugs as they will ... as long as they stand fully responsible for causing accidents while so intoxicated, etc.

Haha ok then but I think the experience of it will outweigh it, you could try baking it with chocolate? (also, marihuana clears out the lungs from tobacco, well, joints are normally clearer for me than ciggerrettes).
Oh yeah, I'm just trying to give out advise, not being an asshole or anything.

Thel, for such a nonuser, I do know marijuana has a host of consumption options, ranging from smoking, to food adulteration, to outright capsulization.  The key thing is that some heat is needed to release the THC from the molecular cages that marijuana holds it in.  The heat source in smoking is obvious, and as far as I'm concerned comes with too many combustion byproducts, and might actually destroy some THC to boot.  Others have found that extraction by more gentle heating produces better highs, or more highs for the same amount of marijuana.  The technique of extraction of THC for capsules is fairly cogent and I encourage those who like marijuana to stop smoking it and instead just extract the THC and use it in various forms.  If you want a marijuana high, just pop one of the caps you made, and enjoy it.

I want nothing to do with all of that, of course, but my disgust has nothing to do with restricting the liberty of others.

Red, (as i guess we're on nickname basis, heh) I see you know your stuff, but smoking a joint is really, really nice for me and i'd much prefer it over a capsule, which, would take out some of the fun. I used to be a ciggerrette smoker (casual, only, i'm not stupid enough to do it that often) but then I replaced it with pot, smoking comes naturally to me, it's like brushing my teeth or eating a packet of crisps.

Thel, smoking anything is also a physical habit, which produces relaxation just from the motions.  I acknowledge that.

A water bong might soften the hardness of the smoke, but as anyone can tell, such devices are hardly as portable.  Still, in the privacy of your own home, why not start using such a device?

It's all your business, anyway.  I'm just sayin'.  :^)

Name: Thelema 2007-07-20 11:26 ID:D/317qj6

That's why it's like brushing my teeth.

Yeah I might get a water bong, I've tried a couple of times and I do like them, but the weed softens the hardness enough for me to not care anyway, it also adds to the fact that 'I know when I've had enough'.

I don't like pot. Don't like being around it. A contact high makes me wig out something awful.

But if you want to smoke it in your own home, go ahead and toke up. In fact, I encourage it. Any act of defiance against an intrusive, outrageous law is a wonderful thing.

It's nice to hear that non-smokers still agree upon the fact that it's an outragous law, something which is uncommon. but I'll smoke it wherever the fuck I want, ofcourse I'm polite enough to not smoke it in YOUR house or in your face.

So long as it's kept private, I don't give a shit whether it's legal or not.

I heard marijuana is healthier than tobacco and alcohol.  Can anyone verify this?

Are you talking about physical damage caused by inhalation, or mental damage caused by the psychoactive effects of the drug?

One big thing about marijuana is that it's impossible to OD on it. In terms of MJ versus tobacco, it is better for your lungs (though mainly because of the tar that tobacco companies add- if you grew your own tobacco and rolled it like a joint, there'd basically be no difference). There really isn't any downside in terms of health and safety.
