You fail to realize the middle east oil is light crude, practically already refined. No where else in the world is it like this. If we get the slate shit oil from canada it is infeasible in terms of production costs.
Other than Pakistan, the only Middle Eastern state with nuclear weapons and documented hostility towards the US (ref. USS Liberty, as well as many instances of Israeli spies in the US) is ISRAEL.
