KGB & The demoralization of the U.S.

Name: Anonymous 2007-06-16 13:53 ID:NZUvaUrr

This is old news, but most likely not many of you will have heard of it.

This video kind of sheds light on why there is so much bullshit in /newpol/ and why it is so hard to find any meaningful political debate in the current social climate. Anybody who is quickly tiring of visiting this shithole may come to appreciate what Yuri Bezmenov has to say.

McCarthyism was the wrong approach to eliminating communism, you don't fight fire by spraying gasoline on it. The correct approach of course would have been libertarianism though unfortunately the libertarian party was not around then.

Well, you didn't watch it before making this comment, it's actually probably for your perspective of things.

What I want to know is, why should I believe this USSR defector? He could have just as well been trying to change minds to fight the USSR.

i watched some of these videos.  it was a bunch of ideological BS.  i don't care.  the end

Name: Anonymous 2007-06-17 0:30 ID:qC3iknz+

actually i do care.  Bezmenov was 100% wrong in his predictions.    I'm guessing he was filmed in the mid-80s.  Since then the country has moved to the right, no to the left.   Bezmenov can suck a cock

yeah i don't know if you're a troll or not but i hear so many people continue to make this idiotic assertion.  The people of the Soviet Union just decided they had enough.  This was a country which killed millions under Stalin, sent millions to die in war, had massive famines of its own creation and was inflicted with corruption to the core.  And you're suggesting that because they might have been a few months behind on the tank factory bill the whole thing collapsed?

>>12
lol this is why bezmenov is absolutely correct, because you cannot and will not believe that the united states is now a centrally planned welfare state.

moving to the right and left has absolutely nothing to do with what the united states has become. all you need to understand this simple concept is the parallels between fascist states (purported right wing) and communist states (purported left wing).

you assert that the united states has moved to the right, not the left. you are assuming the political spectrum is one dimensional: from left to right in a straight line.

if you move into a two dimensional plane it can easily be seen that right wing totalitarianism and left wing totalitarianism are very much so similar in that they take power from the people and centralize it into an oligarchy.

...i bet you still dont see it.

During the Carter era half the world slurped away on Russia's cock like obedient bitches. During the 80s Reagan fought the influence of communism in South America and Afghanistan and won. 20% of Russia's GDP had to be diverted to the military in order to compete with America's booming economy fueld by Reaganomix. It was only until Russia's hardliners became a pain in the ass that more libertarian elements of their government could overthrow communism, before then they were in complete control, no thanks to Pussy Carter.

>>16
I for one see this clearly.

>>18
Libertarians disagree with authoritarian conservatives on many social issues. Even if Libertarians were conservative lapdogs it still wouldn't counter the fact that Communism and Fascism are pretty much 2 cheeks of the same ass and the right/left scale is one of the most completely fucktarded facets of modern politics currently in existence. It's only mildly practical usage was back in the day when left meant "I want a change" and right meant "I do not want a change", which is over-simplified as it is.

And were Russians just scratching the Earth for power when Gerald Ford was in office? No, they were on the rise since Tet, it wasn't like that spook Jimmy Carter got in office and the Russians knew they could get away with shit, they got away with everything even with Ford.

You're making political issues out of what should be non-political history.

Firstly, libertarianism is like the scientology of political sciences, meaning that the theories they present is highly divergent from consensus reality. This does not make the wrong oer se, its just very unlikely that we are from space and evil Xenu wants to control our moods.

Secondly, if you believe that fascism and communism are one and the same, then i wonder what you would think we should´ve done against hitler. Nazi Germany were attacked and blockaded by the allies which was good. Communist China is selling more shit to the US than anywhere else in the world, meaning the americans are supporting people who are no better than nazis. NAZIS i tell you. If communism and fascism is the same, shouldt the US boycott china, attack it where possible and finally liberate it? Think of teh milions in the deathcamps exterminated only because their complexion or ethnicity! The US is helping the serial killer of the world sharpen its knifes, something should be done! If not, then jsut shut the fuck up.

Well I'm not the person you're asking but I'll tell you that one Authoritarian Conservative is different from another Authoritarian Conservative and a Authoritarian Liberal will be different than another Authoritarian Liberal.

I think what he was getting at with Fascism and Communism being the same is that both are authoritarian in nature.

Yes, but if it wasnt intended that they were as bad as each other then the statement were completly meaningless, hence the shut up remark.

I'm not the person whom you are addressing, but if you'll let me add my two cents...

The discrepancy with your argument there is that any system can call itself something else. People actually think America is a constitutional republic, whereas it's only really a constitutional republic by name, and closer to a right-wing welfare state in effect. It had been switched to this system one hundred or so years ago (in my opinion since the time Woodrow Wilson was fooled into ratifying a fiat money system).

Likewise, the communist party of China has in recent history relaxed it's ideological grip and adopted some supposed free-market principles to bolster it's economy.

What you really have to do is look up the economic and social policies of each individual country, and the difference between desired and actual consequences of those policies, to find out what the system really is like.

>>24
I should add one more thing regarding my comment of China: I don't really know what the economic & social policies of China are, I'm just assuming they went a bit more free-market. I'll bet that most likely they just adopted some form of corporatism. I don't know, I haven't researched it.

Liberals enjoy pretending their hippy movement is a popular uprising when in fact it was funded by soviet backed institutions in the 60s and perpetuated by a clique of pseudo-intellectuals and loophole millionaires desperate to keep the law on their side with tales of "equality". Liberals are also lemmings.

And Neo-Liberal Economic Policies and Neo-Conservatism doesn't represent a problem?

I think the OP's videos have a guy who hated the Soviets so much he not only defected but tricked the American interviewing him that his story was 100% truth.
