nihilism catch 22

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-24 9:01 ID:cloSem4i

A true nihilist does not even care about nihilism and does not go around saying "LOL NIHILISM IS TEH TRUE WAY". So if a person says they are a nihilist and makes a big deal out of it they are not nihilists. If a person is not a nihilist they won't bother mentionning it.

Everyone here who been callig themselves nihilists, you aren't a nihilist, you are just trying to compensate for the fact that you are losers by pretending you failed so hard because you never wanted to "win" in the first place. The truth is you couldn't be botherred because you are lazy and selfish, traits you were supposed to learn were bad when you were children.

That depends on how you define nihilism. In imperial Russia nihilism was a revolutionary anti-establishment movement. In legal theory nihilism is simply a descriptive approach rather than a normative one. The belief that modern nihilism is synonymous with angsty teenagers is amusing, but erroneous. You should study Axel Hägerström, whose nihilism was mainly a critique of metaphysical values. Simply recognizing values as a part of the material world rather than a metaphysical one does not imply a doctrine of apathy, as you seem to suggest.

I don't disagree with you on the losers though. Losers are generally drawn to transgressional ideas.

I am the Ubermensch and I say that it doesn't matter whether someone claims to be a nihilist because the true believer and the wannabe fail in the same proportions.

It looks interesting though I fail to see why Mr. Hägerström has failed to noticed that metaphysical values can be defined as being empirical in nature and thus judged by their effects to be valid or invalid regardless of whether it cannot be defined rationally.

Did he mention this anywhere?
