Obama Belongs to Racist Cultish Religion?

Hannity gets right to the point and it becomes quite clear that this church and its values - its stated values are racist.  Of course, this doesn't necessarilly mean Obama agrees with them, but it does give a person reason to stop and think.  Obama considers himself a member of this church, and thus he must not find what they are saying too objectionable, right?

Alan Colmes sidesteps the whole point and goes on to criticize the guest for questioning Obama's faith.  Colmes asks him something like 'where do you get the right to question Obama's faith?' - kindof a stupid question really.  Why doesn't he have the right to question Obama's faith? Is he not free to think as he pleases, to question what he wants?

Bottom line? Obama is a part of a church with some clearly racist doctrines.

Just like he was a militant islamist a couple of months ago. I'm guessing before the election it will turn out he is actually a time travelling Nazi spy.

Agreed.  This is yet another example of racist double standards in America like I point out in another thread.  You can obviously tell that this church is very racist in terms of its doctrines.  If you simply substitute the word 'black' with the word 'white' in  its doctrines, their committment to the 'black' community would become a committment to the 'white' community - something many people would rightly call obvious racism.  Yet when the church proclaims committment to the 'black' community, that is considered 'ok' by a sizable number of people.  If something is racist, it is racist, and it doesn't matter if it is racist against black people or racist against white people.  Racism is racism, and if you are going to denounce it, that is good.  But it is important that you be consistent and apply the same rules fairly and equitably to everyone in all situations, regardless of which race is being targetted or favored unfairly.  Again, this is just another example of racist double standards.

That\'s to be expected from Colmes since Colmes is supposed to be representing the liberal faction of politics on that show.

blah blah blah,

>>2 has it right. Obama is so fucking squeaky clean that it seems like every week something "comes out" about him. oh no he was a smoker, oh no islam, oh no this, oh no that. just fucking face it, losers. the only thing you can do this time around is attack his position on the issues or his race. i realize that's rare for ANY presidential candidate, but you're going to have to get used to being a DEMOCRACY.

and so what about his fucking church? Bush is member of Skull and Bones and a religion that supports the destruction of civil rights of gays and women. AND he didn't even really win the fucking election...come on guys can you try not to fail so hard?

This isn't about Bush, this is about Obama.  If Bush was up for re-election, this would all be noteworthy information.  (and you should note, the media did have several discussions about the fact that both Bush & Kerry were members of Skull and Bones.)

Obama is potentially up for election, so it is a good idea to get some background on him before we consider voting him into office.  Lets not try to change the subject to skirt the facts.  The facts are, Obama is a member of a church with some very questionable doctrines.  Racist doctrines, in fact.

You just don't want people to talk about Obama's background because you like Obama and want him to win.

I don't have a problem with democracy.  But in my idea of a democracy, we have open debate about the candidates before we elect them.  If we are considering Obama as a future president, there is absolutely nothing wrong with questioning things he has done in the past, just like there is nothing wrong with questioning the actions of other candidates.

Don't be silly! In a democracy, you don't criticize your potential leaders before they are elected! Where would you get such a silly notion like that from?

"and so what about his fucking church? Bush is member of Skull and Bones and a religion that supports the destruction of civil rights of gays and women."

And naturally, the fact that Bush has done questionable things means we should excuse Obama, right? Seriously, gtfo.  Just because Bush is bad doesn't mean Obama is good.  Just because Bush is bad does not mean that people are not right to think critically of his replacement.  If anything, it would seem like this is all the more reason to be encouraged to think *more* critically of his replacement.

The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

   1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
   2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
   3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
   4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
   5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
   6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
   7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
   8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
   9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
  10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.

That's the "10-point list" Hannity thinks he's quoting.  What Hannity actually IS quoting is the "Black Value System" laid out by the pastor of the church back in 1981.  The Black Value System isn't the focus of the Church, but it is a community innitiative dedicated to the improvement of the "Black Community".  It does not advocate any form of violence.  It does not advocate any form of superiority, nor separation of any kind, nor of advancement to the exclusion of other races.  It merely expresses a desire to improve the black community in the area of Chicago where the Church is housed.

And >>3, your argument of switching "black" community for "white" community is apt, but weak.  It is no secret that the black community is underprivileged compared to the white community in urban areas.  Now, I don't believe that this is any longer because of racism, but instead merely reflects the fact that urban black populations tend to be poor populations and vice versa.  It would be nice if this church substituted "poor community" for "black community".  But this is racism in a far more benign setting.  Whereas traditionally we think of racism as excluding or discriminating on the basis of biological race, this form of referring to a "black community" is more reflective of an attempt to aid or comfort on the basis of social/demographic standing.

You're not getting it. Bringing up shit like this is reaching, at beast. Not only are you saying Fox New is a valid source (It isn't), but you're talking about an organization that is as guilty of racism or elitist wrong doing as ANY of the other organizations (Skull and Bones) that any other candidate or president (past or present) is apart of. Do you understand now?

Pointing this out about Obama, true or not, means FUCK ALL.

Read >>10's post and GTFO.

Obama's church (and it IS Christian, not Muslim) is not racist, to the best of my knowledge. Milt Romney, however, has some explaining to do with HIS church...

I want to point out that Oprah attends this church.

So obviously it must be far out crazy evil cultish trash, right?  LOL

Two points:
1) Read >>10
2) Find someone better than Hannity to quote.  Please.

Don't change these.
