i don't really see the problem. the sword collectors, martial artists, other enthusiasts will still be able to obtain a license for holding swords. so the only thing this will mean is that jim-bo will not be able to buy a fucking 25£ imitation samurai sword, boo-hoo. and regarding the large kitchen knives, well, a ban does sound a bit over-board, but seriously, does it harm your rights or whatever to use a kitchen knife that's blunted at the end?

I enjoy shooting guns.  I enjoy owning guns.  Deriving enjoyment from an item or activity that doesn't harm others in the process is a great use of an object.  I feel safer when I own guns.  This is a benefit.  I would argue that I *AM* safer when I own guns.  While some might debate this last bit, it is indisputable that there are many people who derive enjoyment from owning weapons.  So there is a reason to own them - enjoyment, among other reasons of course.  And yeah, as >>13 pointed out.. hunting is another great use of guns.  It is a reason to own them.  Sports shooting or recreational shooting, is again, as I mentioned, yet another reason to own guns.  Gun collecting is another one.  Some people enjoy this activity.  I enjoy owning guns and engaging in recreational activities with them such as sports shooting just like I enjoy playing counterstrike.  So there's many reasons right there to own them. 

And anyway, I don't need to, nor should I have to give cunts like you a reason to own something I enjoy owning or using, provided the ownership and usage is peaceful.

I derive enjoyment from owning and distributing a vast archive of child porn.
