# Security/liberties: There can be no "security" without "liberty". There is no "liberty" other than "individual liberty". As Ben Franklin said: "Those who would give up essential liberty for a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety".
# Social Security: Social Security is bankrupt; morally and financially. It was based on a lie. There was never a Social Security account held in your name. Your money was stolen and given to others. The sooner Americans face and accept this fact, the sooner we can let it go and move on. Social Security numbers are now being used, illegally, as tracking numbers on Americans by the US government.
# Stem cell research: Research should never be "federalized". I support the separation of science and state. I fully support private stem cell research.
# Same sex issues: Get government out of ALL marriages. Government has no legitimate reason for being in the "business" of marriage. It is no one else's business who chooses to marry whom.
# Trade issues: Protectionism and quotas harm private business and consumers.
# Budget: Taxation is theft. Government must sell off its holdings in order to finance its activities. Any department, agency, bureau, program or office that is not specifically mandated in the original Constitution must be abolished, thereby reducing the need for most of the government's budget.
#
# Gun control: The Second Amendment specifically and clearly forbids the government from passing any laws regarding weapons. However, it merely recognizes a pre-existing right and does not grant a right. Rights do not come from government and cannot be revoked by government. All gun laws are counterfeit laws.
# Minimum wage: The proper minimum wage is "zero". Anything more causes false pressures on the market which hurt business and unskilled workers trying to enter the job market. No one would accept or continue in a job which pays less than they are willing to work for. The market will self-correct if left alone.
# Health care: There is no "right to health care". There would be plenty to go around, and at a fair price if government would stop meddling.
# Prescription drugs: "Prescription drug plans" call for the medications to be subsidized with stolen money via Medicare or welfare of another sort. This is wrong.
# Immigration: There is no such thing as "illegal immigratrion". The problem arises because of people who immigrate to America and then become a "drain" on the welfare system. The welfare system is financed with stolen (tax) money and must be abolished, thereby eliminating the incentive for people to immigrate if they have no desire to become self supporting, productive people.
# Education: There is no Constitutional provision for government-run schooling. Parents should have the choice of how they wish to educate their children, or to opt out completely if they so desire. Vouchers only redirect the stolen (property tax) money to different schools but do not address the root problem.

A lot of the time, nutters and ill-informed lightweight fringe members make wild claims.  Some of these turn out to be true.  They're still nutters and ill-informed lightweight fringe members, though - they just get lucky with the scattershot method.

All too often, they point out the questions with clarity and power.  This makes people think they have the answers, too.  Big mistake.

This guy has some good ideas. I agree mostly and my reasonning is a little different.

# Security/liberties: Correct.
# Social Security: Correct. Current social security contracts should be followed to completion. Future contracts should be done through a heavily regulated pribvatised social security system and various private insurance companies. Later the privatised social security system will be deregulated to become an ordinary insurance company.
# Stem cell research: Correct. However patents and mutual R&D legitimate business arrangements should still be enforced by the government under it's duty to preserve justice.
# Same sex issues: Correct.
# Trade issues: Correct. If you can't compete it is because your business is contributing less to the economy. The law doesn't need to change, your business needs to change.
# Budget: Partially correct. I take the utilitarian perspective. While the government is a huge corrupt bureaucratic morass, it is difficult to distinguish between changes which will be beneficial and changes that can become volatile. At first the libertarian party should focus on outright obvious corruption which needs to be solved and progress to issues which are less apparent and less harmful. Evolution rather than revolution. Note my opinion on social security.
# Gun control: No comment.
# Minimum wage: Partially correct. Waiting for the market to correct itself will be a long painful process. I rank minimum wage as a volatile issue which should be left till later. A bigger corruption on the economy at the moment is the myriad of pointless tariffs and non-justice based regulations.
# Health care: Partially correct. Victims of crime should receive cash contributions to their healthcare from criminals. The government has some duty to distribute necessary public safety information such as the importance of and how to obtain insurance.
# Prescription drugs: Correct. Insurance companies charge people less for living a healthy lifestyle, the government doesn't. Pointless corruption causes more sufferring than prescription drug plans by wasting resources issued to our nation's health care.
# Immigration: Partially correct. Populations ought to be kept low to ensure continued GDP per capita growth. This combined with liberty leads to a very high standard of living and way of life.
# Education: Correct. A voucher system would be beneficial compared to today's system. A more total change however is necessary to perfect the education system.

Wow, so if you're poor, some stranger meets you in the alps?

There has to be some safety-net for people, it's incredulous to think any moral, ethical (oh wait, libertarians) or even sensible society would not have one. I mean universal health-care is just blindly obvious in virtually every other industrialized country with the exclusion of the U.S., I think it has to do with the fact most western countries had a feudal system wherein at least even serfs had basic but still ingrained rights to live.

But what to expect from Libertarians; if you have no money, you have no rights.

Big Lebowski reference, there's a line that Walter says 'You see what happens Larry, when you FUCK A STRANGER IN THE ASS!?' and proceeds to beat the shit out of a car he thought was Larry's... the line was cleaned up in television versions to 'You see what happens Larry, when you MEET A STRANGER IN THE ALPS!?".
