Political Shifts

Anyone notice the political shift going on in American politics these days? It seems to me that, compared to say 10 years ago, the left is becoming much more right (and vise versa) as compared to the former left right dichotomy. Am I alone in this interpretation? I know its happend many times before but was just wondering because it seems to be happening again

They are becomming increasingly libertarian as education increases and increases in standards of living permit more and more people to be stress free enough to think clearly.

The left is realising the virtues of the free market and economic freedom. The right is abandonning those social traditions which are illogical and their need to force them on others.
