It's slightly disturbing that there are people who vote based on this issue.
For competitive shooters, politically controlled gun control is one of the most ludicrously retarded things ever. If politicians passed a law that would completely ban guns of any kind, then I would be a sad, sad person.

I don't really know why (reasonable) gun control laws would really affect this. Wouldn't the competition organizers have special licenses to keep a collection locked up?
Even if deadly firearms were completely banned (for the record i don't think they should, but don't really have a deep seated opinion on the matter), isn't there's still air-soft and paintball (i know it's not really the same thing)
Just don't let blacks or mexicans have guns and there wouldn't be any gun crime.

You know, those who enjoy guns for recreation aren't all competitive shooters. Some of them who like target shooting just shoot tin cans and shit in their backyard.
