srsly...
If you're never going to find something out what's the point of coming up with answers for it and trying to get everyone to believe them? Best just to say "I don't know" and concentrate on seeing if you can find out other things. I think maybe religions don't like scientists because they think scientists are lazy for trying to answer questions that can be answerred.

since the local fundamentalist christian is the only religious person you know just STFU and GTFO
Well I was just trying to think a little further. Maybe more people would follow religions and religious social codes if there was one that made a little more sense.

Faith attempts to answer questions that have no been answered
Slowly, it will be backed into a corner and then eventually it will disappear

After 2 thousand years of faith there is little danger of science taking its place. From the looks of the global warming debate I think science is in more trouble than religion. It would appear that science is asking for results to be taken on faith.
In any case, since science can't disprove God, Faith will not disappear.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death."

Retarded. Nothing can prove god in the first place, so what is there to disprove?

Because you are retarded if you say something like "SCIENCE CAN'T DISPROVE GOD!!!" and I'm not going to stand around and do nothing whilst you mock my faith with your stupidity.
The main reason why religion exists is because it gives people hope and comfort knowing that there is some divine being watching over them. It is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of any sort of Gods, because it would be impossible for humans to fully comprehend their higher plane of existence.
I for one am an atheist, but I can understand why many people do believe in some sort of God. All religion, even atheism, promotes togetherness and has set moral values which help keep the community civilized. There's nothing really wrong with religion unless the congregation of a religion is exploited by its leaders for their own benefit, which does happen quite often.
You're just a typical naive and angsty teenager who knows next to nothing about life.
